If we want to became a good computer programmer then we shouls follow the following points:
The idea about which we are thinking must be clear.
. Our ideas amd goals must be clear then it can easily be converted in any programming language.
. To learn any programming language is not a difficult task or job.
. Practice plays a very important role in learning of any programming language.
We should take the programming as a hobby etc.
Now I have an idea that we should make a software that coverts English to Urdu dirctly and vice versa. This can be very useful specially for Pakistani students and people.
Note: If somebody finds any fault in my points so please notify me. I will appriciate this thing.

Be clear in your mind what your goals are.If you want to go towards a CEO position or the top management level poistion of any good organization then dont enter computer science field.Computer Science field is an area of passion and hobby.It is an area where you can make your imaginations become a reality by using your brain to come up with some good programming skills resulting into a software which is not available in the world.Software which can bring a revolution in this era of technology.
What could be the possible career goals in computer science?
Career prospects in Pakistan might not be very bright. You have limited options through the conventional system. either start with Network basics or Programming (Software, Web Dev.) mainly database oriented. You are expected to stay consistant for 5-6 years after which your expertise aquired determine your future. Some keep going deaper into technologies while others explore surrounding options like consultancy (like me) etc..
One thing is clear, A computer science student is useful for any type of job.
What if I dislike programming?
Initially you will have to indulge yourself into either networks or programming (atleast in Pakistan). But with time, you can make your way out. You may also start with Quality Assurance that is quite different as compared to the earlier said.
What is the role of mathematics in computer science?
Mathematics ofourse plays a vital role in engineering a software. You can however carry on with just the basic mathematics with some distinctive IQ. It needs to be mentioned here that what ever learn at university. If it is by heart and with true understanding, It will certainly help you in your day to day life and will reflect in your work at the end of the day. e.g. Binomial theorum, Trignometry, Permutations & Combinations etc. You never know how much you will apply them to gain distinction.
What is the difference between computer science and information technology?
Computer science involves hardware, software, firmware etc. the software might be some format converter or some software like winzip or some video/audit player. Something that has little to do with databases and mainly involves other capabilities of your machine or network communication. Information Technology on the other hand revolves around databases. It is meant to facilitate the collection, storage, security & distribution of information. Portals, websites, Information systems are different outcomes of information technology. A little advanced (but not too different) applications are for mobiles.
Are they related to each other or exactly the same thing or there are some differences?
If i am not mistaken, Computer Science is a superset of Information Technology.
What qualities should i posses to enter the field of computer science?
Nothing but just a strong will and determination. There is a BIG BIG software market outside Pakistan. We in Pakistan find a limited scope while things are booming and new concepts emerging and systems being converted and optimised by adopting relavant discoveries. Things are being overhauled, reverse engineered etc..
What are the possible career paths in computer science?
As I said earlier, Networks, Software (Development/ Quality assurance) you still can get into sales & marketing stuff as this is how things have been moving.
What are the job opportunities in Pakistan and Abroad in this field?
In Pakistan, I am not very sure. Outside Pakistan, e.g. Dubai there are a lot of jobs for maintaining systems either software or networks. You also find a lot of jobs for Document management, Content Management but they require experience.
Do the future of computer science is bright or dark? What are the reasons?
It depends upon your calibre and dear luck. I would want to put luck before calibre. As i have seen that it counts more than anything else. You will find, What God has planned for you. Yes, as they say "Baa Adab Baa Naseeb, Bey Adab Bud Naseeb". A good moral character can make a lot of difference. Tolerance, cooperation and patience can improve things for pretty long term. I think the main reason for the slowness in market is political isolation of Pakistan else Indian software market is at a record growth. We can provide quality much more than India but only if we get business.

I am not agreeing with Jilani, following are my arguments:
1. Pakistan is a developing country and we all know that things which are in developing phase has a lots of opportunities for work to develop those things. As Pakistan is also a developing country then how would be possible that it doesn't have opportunities?
2. Programming is the core of computer science. So, if you dislike programming then i highly recommend that please please please not to come in this field. Otherwise, you will become only the user of this field as the case with most of the students in our country. You better select information technology then.
3. Computer Science is the knowledge of Computers based on study and practise while Information Technology is the study of the usage of computers to solve/enhance our problems/systems.
4. Why people (living things) expects opportunities from a non-living thing (country). It is the person who creates opportunities not the country so be a creator not the user.
5. Career Paths: I recommend you should focus and decide your targets instead of depending/searching on existing careers. Once you will decide your goals then you will find opportunities automatically even if not find any then create one. In the field of computer science, following could be one of the target division:
- Project Management
- Solution Architect
- Solution Development
- Solution Integration
- Test Engineering
